Arbitrage time
The Dictionary.com definition for arbitrage is "Finance. the simultaneous purchase and sale of the same securities, commodities, or foreign exchange in different markets to profit from unequal prices."
This is what I am doing with 0% credit card balance transfers. About a month or two ago I cam across some information at My Money Blog and then a few weeks later I received in the mail a 0% APR and balance transfer offer from American Express Blue. Normally I mail back the prepaid envelope telling them to fuck off since I think credit card companies are scum. But I remembered that blogs info and thought, "I can cost American Express $0.42 mailing this prepaid envelope back to them or I could take as much money as I can to keep them from lending the money to some poor kid who does not need the money."
Another driving force is that I like to count money. I will happily take free money and put it into my high interest savings account where I will receive +5.0% APY on that money. Making this money every year will allow me to have extra money to invest and pay down my student loans.
I followed these Directions
Since American Express does not have the option as Citibank cards do to transfer money directly to your bank accoutn, I had to transfer the money to my Citibank card and then ask for a refund.
I got the $15,000 today. I also have 4 other cards that put me at a total amount of $37,200 of free money.
There are risks, but they can be minimized if you set up automatic payments and make sure you pay off the balance before the 0% balance transfer offer expires. Also, if you have trouble with credit cards, this is not for you. Learn how to live without a credit card for a year before trying this. Right after I receive my new card I write down the important information, stick this information in my safe, and then shred the card. I am not using this card for buying shit I don't need anyway. I am using it to get capital and to make a return on this capital credit card companies are giving to me for free.

Thanks for the mentions and good luck! Be sure to keep track of things in the move too - I just moved too and it was hectic.
